- American Detective Dramas is a monograph based on Jenner's PhD and, thus, is both the result of a sustained research effort and an extended and complex piece of research. The project describes the history of the detective genre on American television since the 1950s and is the first genre history of its kind. It further offers an original analysis of methods of detection and how American history is mediated through these fictional programmes.
