- This output represents the first journal article following a complex, six-year, £1.6M, EPSRC-funded, multi-disciplinary project. Fifteen researchers and six sub-contractors were coordinated to collect this new dataset. Visits to c6,000 homes recruited 393 households. Gas and electricity meters and c3,000 temperature sensors were installed; two questionnaires and whole-house energy surveys were undertaken. The effort of cleaning, curating and analysing the data, and of maintaining the cohort for more than four years, was substantial. The journal editors gave special dispensation to publish this extensive article: 19,925 words plus two appendices and four items of supplementary information including the underpinning data.
