- This edited book arises from Sheldon’s AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award (CDA; gained in 2012) for research on the Della Robbia Pottery collection in collaboration with the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead. The CDA led to an exhibition and symposium held at the Gallery between 18/06/2016 and 04/09/2016, as well as a PhD for one of the contributors. Sheldon commissioned and edited the volume, and also contributed an essay (pp. 55-72) and afterword (pp. 89-93) which drew upon her longstanding research in nineteenth-century art and collecting (Letters of Lady Eastlake, 2009) and (Art for the Nation, with S. Avery-Quash, 2011).
