- This paper presents early research on fault detection and life prediction on tidal turbines. This paper was result of work done as part of joint academic and industrial partnership in SuperGen UK Centre for Marine Energy Research (EPSRC Grant EP/J010200/1).
Tidal Energy Limited has applied the outcome of this paper on their delta stream turbine deployed in Ramsey Sound in Pembrokeshire, Wales. This model capable of predicting the remaining life of tidal turbine transmission has enabled efficient maintenance planning.
