- This paper explores quantification of the trade-off between the energy efficiency and the spectral efficiency of the popular wireless communication strategy of transmit antenna selection. The work led to a Newton fund grant (Research mobility CONFAP/Newton Fund, Project 46069 in open call nº 01/2016) to progress a collaboration through a visit to Brazil. The paper made an important contribution to the awarding of the Scotland 5G Centre (£8M https://scotland5gcentre.org). It has also led to invited talks in industry (Huawei Sweden), a regulatory body (Ofcom UK), and at an RF mmWAVE Symposium (Queens University Belfast).
