- This paper reports for the first time the use of a new multi-band carrier-less-amplitude and phase modulation adopted in VLC system offering significantly higher spectral efficiency. The work underpinned the multi-band format component of the subsequent successful EPSRC funding application (EP/P006280/1 and EP/P006299/1; total £1M) collaboratively work with University College London and with industrial project partner UPS2 Ultra Precise & Structured Surfaces, and an EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Slodowska-Curie grant agreement no 764461 (VISION 2018-2021). The paper was an international collaboration between six UK universities, one European University and one R&D centre from Malaysia.
