- The monograph Children’s Publishing and Black Britain, 1965-2015 required considerable archival research and access to primary sources that, due to their small print-runs and/or ephemerality, were often difficult to access. The book considers an under-researched area of literature, Black British literature for children, and investigates the ways that mainstream publishing, the educational establishment, the media, and national government helped or hindered the production of books for this audience. It also examines community and independent publishers and their efforts to offer alternative perspectives and broader access to books for Black readers.
