- Knowledge in Policy draws together work completed by the KNOWandPOL consortium, funded by the European Commission under its Sixth Framework Programme 2006-2011. The consortium comprised 12 teams from eight European countries. Freeman led one of those teams, and jointly planned and edited this volume. Freeman co-authored introductory and concluding chapters 1 and 11, and co-edited the whole.
