- Double-weighted statement
- This monograph researches a complex thesis that combines philosophical, historical and linguistic analysis to interpret the understanding and influence of Indian Buddhist texts in East Asia. As the first in-depth study of the Ratnagotravibhāga in East Asia, this work is dependent on primary sources. These are difficult to access, because they are (a) complicated Buddhist doctrines and terms in different classical languages and interaction, followed by significant modern research across countries; (b) classical manuscripts, written in multiple languages, posing difficulties in textual comparison and translation; (c) historical materials in subsequence. This work took more than 8 years to complete.

- English abstract
- This monograph explores theories on tathāgatagarbha, tathatā and gotra in East Asian Buddhism from the 5th to 7th centuries, with a focus on the influence of the Ratnagotravibhāga (Jiujingyisheng baoxing lun究竟一乘寶性論). There are major differences between the Sanskrit text and its Chinese translation of the Ratnagotravibhāga, which had an immeasurable influence on East Asian Buddhism and which had yet to be explored. It also discusses the influence of the Ratnagotravibhāga on the Dasheng qixin lun大乘起信論, Fazang法藏, and some writings in Korea and Japan.
