- Double-weighted statement
- This is an interdisciplinary work innovatively combining the history of the book and the history of the canon of twentieth-century social and political thought, which is, largely, a shared history. The project started in 2010, was funded by a British Academy grant (SG 132730), and came to completion in 2019, with the publication of the monograph. It involved archival research in various sites around the world (Munich, Oxford, London, Paris, Chicago, Yale, Harvard, and Austin Texas) and extensive research on the role of multiple agents (authors, editors, publishers, reviewers, prefacers, translators and academics) in the book- and canon-making processes.
