- This monograph demonstrates sustained research effort, producing a critical argument dependent upon the completion of a lengthy investigation of materials. Debates within feminist, queer and comedy theory are examined in considerable depth, from different perspectives, and in relation to the different contexts of British and American television comedy. The research in British television comedy, in particular, addresses primary material which is complex, extensive and rarely addressed in academic work.
