- This study investigated influences of process parameters on forces and material removal in bonnet polishing of medical CoCr alloys used in knee implants it was part of a project to develop the capability of the polishing machine produced by Zeeko UK. The output has been employed to further develop bonnet polishing by Zeeko (richard.freeman@zeeko.co.uk). The work was fundamental in developing technology for additively manufactured patient specific implants and free form optics. Recognition of the work led Prof David Walker an early adopter, to be appointed to Huddersfield from UCL to continue the work in the EPSRC Future Metrology Hub EP/P006930/1
