- Double-weighted statement
- This monograph examines the history of two sets of Catholic missionaries in a local context, that of Kongolo in southeastern Congo, over a period of just over seventy years. It is the result of over a decade's worth of research that includes Loffman's doctoral work. The book draws on extended research in archives from five countries (Belgium, DR-Congo, France, Italy, and the UK) and incorporates secondary and/or primary sources in four main languages: English, Dutch, French, and Swahili. It also includes difficult-to-access oral sources from the DR-Congo and incorporates a very wide range of different perspectives.
