- This scholarly monograph examines sexual violence and the legacy of apartheid in South African literature. It offers close readings of a wide range of texts (novels, memoirs and short stories) by prominent and less well-known writers. Key concepts discussed across the monograph include: a range of spaces from cities to prison cells; political activism linked to violence; urbanization; and railway transport and its connection with political dominance and freedom.
