- McGarry’s single-authored monograph provides an original and significant analysis of prejudice towards Roma communities, and offers a comprehensive analysis of the fundamental causes of Rompahobia in terms of identity, belonging and ‘territorialisation’ amongst European nation states, whilst providing insights for the study of other marginalised communities across the world. It meets the criteria for double-weighting in being a longer-form output that reflects a sustained research effort; in synthesising and presenting a large body of material; and in demonstrating a sustained investigation of Romaphobia drawing on different theoretical perspectives, and in relation to different geographical and historical contexts.
