- This paper describes the first rigorous analysis of Ni-Al2O3 nano-coatings in conjunction with fourth-generation HFE-7000 refrigerant. The research found good wear and friction properties through the generation, formation and deposition of boundary layers, especially at higher temperatures. This work led to a further award from industry with the potential to commercialise in the automotive sector (Dr Rizwan Bajwa, Rizwan.bajwa@daidometal.com, Daido Metal Co Ltd, European Technical Center (UK), Grant number 11347).
