- This paper involved a collaboration with the Universities of Liverpool and Sheffield, with the experimental blast data collected as part of an EPSRC-funded project (EP/D041201/1). The paper highlighted the ability of the material to fail without explosive spalling, even in very close explosion conditions. The research is being taken up for defence applications by the British Army and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, while also providing basis for further research, e.g. enhancing the impact and blast resistance of the material using other types of fibres (Tran, T.K., Tran, N.G., Kim, D.J., 15 February 2021, In: Construction & Building Materials. 271).
