- Simultaneous wireless information and power transmission (SWIPT) allowing the emitted energy in the RF-signals to be harvested and recycled becomes an attractive solution for the deployment of massive number of IoT devices. This paper, is the result of a collaboration by scientists in Saudi Arabia, Australia and the leading signal processing scientist at Princeton University, V. Poor. It proposes a practical SWIPT design for transmit beamforming with time switching to maximise the quality-of-service of multiple users. The proposed scheme can closely approach the theoretical bound and has much lower complexity than the state-of-the-art.
