- Software Theory: A Cultural and Philosophical Study is a 220-page, 5-chapter monograph on the cultural study of software that is the culmination of nine years of research. Its proposal of a new conceptual framework in which to think about software and digital media and technology required the extensive analysis of philosophical literature on technology in order to identify substantial gaps in it. In addition, the deconstructive approach proposed in the book is applied to a large number of primary sources (technical texts and computer programmes) drawn from a lengthy time period (1968-2001).
