- This work presents a novel laser based technique for texturising food prodution surfaces in order to repel organisms from surfaces to extend the shelf life of food or optimise their processing. Topographies were designed and produced with specific wavelengths to repel target organisms. The work resulted from my activities as an international observer on a large H2020 project (Tresclean https://www.tresclean.eu) and has now led to a new research grouping being formed with colleagues from Italy ( Dr Luca Romoli; luca.romoli@unipr.it). The paper also featured as one of the IOP Journal Surface Topography: Metrology and Properties Publication Highlights in 2017. (https://iopscience.iop.org/journal/2051-672X/page/Highlights-of-2017)
