- This work was the foundation for further 10 research papers by the author and induced collaborations with 4 other universities. The simulator DISSECT-CF presented in the paper was used by numerous students in these universities both to understand the inner workings of cloud systems and to execute their research towards their bachelor to PhD studies. In independent studies, the simulator has been compared to the widely-used CloudSim simulator toolkit, with favourable results: “our experiments confirmed that DISSECT-CF has a clear advantage over CloudSim” (DOI: 10.1002/spe.2579).
