- This book (pp. 192; 75,000 words) presents an original investigation of the leading Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat and the negotiation of his Chinese identification in the global and local film markets. Each of its eight main chapters are equivalent to a full journal article. The book covers a timeframe from the 1970s to the present. It analyses the construction and circulation of stardom across different film genres, media texts, film industries and cultural markets. Adopting an intertextual analysis, the book examines research materials from diverse sources in both English and Chinese.
