- This paper is significant because an efficient relaying protocol was proposed for TWRC to address the key problem of imbalanced inputs from the two co-channel simultaneous links (a.k.a. nonorthogonal transmission), caused by fading in practical wireless channels. This work has successfully supported an EPSRC grant jointly with Imperial from the RCUK (“A Pilot Study on a Fully Deployable Cooperative UAV System for Flooding Prediction, Monitoring and Response Services”), to implement the protocol for multiple-UAV communication systems. Aspects of this research also involved engagement with BT Openreach to explore application to their field engineers who respond to flood events.
