- I was a member of the LHCb review committee for the previous iteration of this analysis. Hence I contributed both on the methodology and to the cross-checks made for that measurement, and had direct intellectual input to the analysis. This paper is an update with additional statistics and further improvements to the method. This is the first observation of CP violation in decays involving charm decays, hence a milestone in the exploration in the studies of matter-antimatter asymmetry. Discussions are still ongoing on whether the level of CP asymmetry observed can be accommodated in the Standard Model or not.
