- This paper impacts the state of the art by improved understanding of deformation mechanisms of magnesium alloys using computation in conjunction with experiments at NASA Langley Research Center. It has been applied to other material systems and led to a $1m (https://www.sbir.gov/sbirsearch/detail/1485407) grant from the US Army Research Lab (Army SBIR Health Conscious Structures for Zero-Maintenance Rotorcraft Platforms) in collaboration with a software company (AlphaSTAR Corporation).
