- Additional information
- This is a co-authored web-resource on “Early Christianity on Uist”, combining information on both place-names and potential early church sites or sites with religious association. The resource contains a c.5,000 word Introductory Essay on “Early Christianity in Uist”; a section with individual entries concerning the Saints commemorated in the various place-names; sections for individual Sites, divided by island (North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist); and a resources section which contains a new translation of a saint’s Life (by a third contributor). To review the whole resource, each Saint and Site entry should be consulted, as well as the Introductory Essay. There is also a Gaelic language version for some of the contents. The overall resource is co-authored by Thomas Clancy and Sofia Evemalm; only Clancy is being submitted to the REF. Clancy’s specific input to the resource: as well as leading the project and contributing to and having oversight of all the content, he is sole author for the Introductory Essay and all the entries in the Saints section. First published online in August 2018.
