- This work presents the design and development of a small scale organic Rankine cycle (ORC) system for waste heat recovery. This work led to three patents (Korean Patent office: 101336788, 101208458, and 101101344). The industrial partner, Jinsol Turbo (Jinsol Turbo, [details available]) used the outcomes and results of this study to develop and commercialize 5kWe and 10kWe ORC system. Based on these results, Korea Institute of Energy Research awarded a research grant of $600000 (B4-2461) to improve the thermal efficiency of the small-medium scale ORC system.
