- Outcome of international collaboration with the French’s National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE, Lyon, France) on river-floodplain interactions. Work is based on high precision experiments in the unique INRAE Hydraulics Facility and supported by the French National Research Agency. Although the paper has been published very recently, its findings have already been used in studying transverse flows in the Wax Lake Delta, a naturally developing river-dominated delta in the northern Gulf of Mexico (Louisiana State University - Chowdhury), bank protection approaches for compound channels (University of Auckland - Melville), and numerical modelling (Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University - Singh).
