- This output is a single-author monograph of 90,000 words. It arises from original research on British Muslim communities and institutions undertaken across several research projects over 10 years, including the author’s doctoral research, a major AHRC/ESRC study, a Barrow Cadbury study of faith-based social action and further interviews. The range of primary sources is extensive, including interviews and participant observation spanning 2008 to 2018, and synthesis of specialist literature. As an extended study of the subject material, the book took 36 months to write.
