- Double-weighted statement
- The monograph presents an extensive and in-depth study that draws on a wide range of primary sources spanning literary and visual material, much of it unpublished. The completion of the project was heavily dependent on the collection of primary data in Korea over several years of extended field trips. They included interviews in Korean language with curators, gallery owners and academics, visits to artists’ studios and archival work. In Korea access to archival material is difficult and it was therefore crucial to also attend exhibitions held in Korea, where new findings, including new artworks, were made public.
