- This monograph is a unique substantial piece of work comprising the first research project conducted on the experiences of transgender police. Undertaken over 5 years the research involved an in-depth exploration of intersectional issues of gender ideologies, gender performance, transphobia, and LGBT+ bias in policing. The book contains academic content equivalent to several individual journal articles and book chapters, evidenced in the publication of a journal article, two upcoming book chapters, and an upcoming edited volume on transgender bias in criminal justice. Police forces in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia use the book to guide work policy.
