- This paper arises as an application of Quantum Informatics to the thermodynamics of microscopic systems. It is significant on account of the general approach it offers for the study of the effects of heat and noise on quantum computers. The paper was presented at the International Conference on Quantum Control in honour of Bogdan Mielnik, Cinvestav, Mexico City (October 2014), at the International Workshop on Quantum Informatics, ITMO University, St Petersburg (November 2014), and at the Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford (May 2016).
