- This output is a product of a long-term sustained research effort between 2005-2018. This involved extensive analysis of a large amount of archival material held at two US archives: the Brodsky Archive at Beinecke Library, Yale, and the Farrar, Straus and Giroux Archive at the New York Public Library. Multiple stakeholders have been consulted and/or interviewed (Brodsky's translators, editors, publishers, or their heirs and agents) via different channels. The book examines a complexity of different perspectives on poetic translation in the USA in late 20th century and on translation practices in Anglo-American and Russian contexts.
