- Double-weighted statement
- I would like my award-winning monograph, Rethinking the Scottish Revolution: Covenanted Scotland, 1637-1651, to be double-weighted because it entailed the collection and analysis of a very large body of under-used and inaccessible material from local and national archives across Scotland and England. This extended study (c.185,000 words) proposed an original thesis that engaged with sources and theoretical approaches new to the field. The secondary literature is limited and the major modern analysis of the period was written over forty years ago. This increased the time required to research and write it.
