- The Cinema of Nuri Bilge Ceylan is the first book in English examining one of today’s most original and provocative filmmakers. An experiment in trans-disciplinary co-operative writing, the work combines critical social and cultural theory with film analysis. Through intense collaboration over three years and close readings of Ceylan’s films, both individually and comparatively, the book identifies cross-cutting themes/motifs, cinematic techniques and aesthetics and frames them in a transnational cultural context with respect to the experiences of global metropolitan modernity. The book is also translated into Turkish: Nuri Bilge Ceylan Sinemasi: Türkiyeli Bir Sinemacinin Küresel Hayal Gücü (Metis Yayincilik, 2018).
