- Double-weighted statement
- This is a substantial monograph (320 pp.) which draws on extensive primary source research while advancing and challenging numerous assumptions about the nature of the Civil Wars of the 1640s and the individual experience of them. While the book aims to address a variety of audiences – both the informed scholar and a broader readership interested in the Civil Wars – it is clear that this advances scholarship substantively in a way which two articles would not have done.
