- Aragón-Salamanca is a leading member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV) MaNGA survey team. In addition to his senior roles in SDSS-IV, he has had scientific and managerial leadership roles specific to MaNGA, including membership of the MaNGA Executive Committee, and co-chair of its Science Committee. He took a leading role in the design and planning of the MaNGA survey, in particular its science goals, sample selection, observing strategy, and data product specification. He has also made many contributions to the scientific exploitation of the survey (stellar populations and kinematics, galaxy structure, chemical composition, and star-formation history).
