- This 72,000 word monograph is the culmination of five years of research and develops and analyses diverse data from a range of sources. These sources include original work with games designers and analysis of software and code in game engines. The book contains eight original chapters, unpublished elsewhere, and draws together work from a variety of academic fields, including digital media theory, philosophy, human geography and media and cultural studies. In doing so, the book makes a unique contribution to debates around interfaces, games, power and everyday life.
