- Victimology is an expanding field of study that cuts across criminology, law, psychology, politics and sociology. This book is significant because within this complex field, it combines a novel analysis of three intellectual traditions: ‘cultural victimology’; governance theory and mechanisms; and the law relating to victims within the criminal justice system. This cross-cutting approach provides a more complete understanding of the situation and role of victims in criminal justice systems. Although focused on England and Wales, the research draws upon source material from around the world to reinforce its findings. 348 pages.
