- This monograph ranges across the history of medicine and intellectual history, including in-depth examination of four long, unpublished works in medieval Greek. The book is the product of eight years’ research in Britain, the USA, and France. It involved extensive archival work, including in-person consultation of over 120 poorly catalogued manuscripts in 31 libraries and archives in twelve different European countries. Its arguments and research entailed engagement with Greek, Latin, and Arabic primary sources and scholarly literature in English, French, German, Italian, Modern Greek, and Spanish.
