- Double-weighted statement
- This is the first book on the influence of Romantic period literature on Dickens. This longer-form output (c.80,000 words) reflects the collection and analysis of a large body of primary and secondary material (over 300 books, journals and periodicals dating from the 1790s to the present), including difficult to access primary materials (including extended work in the British Library and the University of Cambridge library), across a lengthy period (4 years). Close readings of Dickens novels reflect the investigation of a given theme in considerable depth, from a variety of critical perspectives.
