- Outcome of EPSRC project 'High resolution numerical and experimental studies of turbulence-induced sediment erosion and near-bed transport' that combined stereoscopic particle image velocimetry of the flow fields around mobile sediment particles with advanced statistical and theoretical analysis. The reported findings have been already used, e.g., by Lambert’s group (University of Adelaide), Baker’s group (University of Minnesota), and Pahtz’s group (Zhejiang University). Served as a basis for a follow-up EPSRC project 'Bed friction in rough-bed free-surface flows: a theoretical framework, roughness regimes, and quantification'.
