- The authors completed their draft manuscript on 12.12.19 and had planned to return to East Africa March-April 2020 to complete some final interviews, and select and secure permissions for images and videos. However, this was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, as Okagbue could not travel from Nigeria where he was on research leave to Uganda and Rwanda; and Kasule had to cut short his visit to East Africa in March 2020 to beat the Covid-19 travel restrictions in the UK. The lockdown also affected the final review process, as both readers’ comments and responses were delayed.
