- Double-weighted statement
- This book represents the culmination of two decades of Coaffee’s interdisciplinary research on the application of resilience ideas in a range of practices. The latter stages of that research have been supported by grants from five different research councils in the UK, the European Union and Japan. These successes have significantly increased the scale and the scope of the underlying empirical findings. They have enabled the research effort to be directed at understanding responses to existent threats in an increasing number of sites around the world. This allows the book to be constructed in a genuinely comparative manner.
