- Forming part of a series of work on sustainable manufacture on unconventional machining processes, this empirical research on electrodischarge machining in reducing process energy consumption via rigorous optimisation methods, is significant in enhancing its environmental sustainability (UN - SDG9). New process level data generated is also significant to global LCI databases (e.g. ECOINVENT), where there is a paucity of data on unconventional machining processes. As a direct result of this work collaborations with industry and Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) have been strengthened and a UKRI – INNOVATEUK- KTP award successfully secured (Grant Ref No KTP 12253).
