- An interdisciplinary monograph incorporating the fields of Tourism History, Leisure Studies, American Studies and Diplomatic History. Research was conducted over two years in the United Kingdom and the United States, interrogating the unpublished memoirs and diaries of Americans travelling to Britain in the 1950s. Research visits were made to Duke University, University of North Carolina, and the Library of Congress. Archive material was retrieved from Claremont Colleges CA and Brigham Young University. An in-depth interview was conducted in Washington DC. Research on the reception of the visitors was also conducted in various British national and local archives.
