- The findings which have brought together data on structural, optical, and biomechanical characteristics of the eye lens to understand ageing have led to a further successful grant application for beam-time at the SPring-9 synchrotron (2020A1193) (PI Pierscionek) and for NIH project grant funding under grant program (R01), ‘Eph-ephrin signaling in the lens’ (PI Cheng, collaborator Pierscionek). The work has extended collaborations with Dr Catherine Cheng (Indiana University, USA) and led to renewed collaborations with Professor Satoshi Mohri (Kawasaki Medical School, Japan).
