- The paper introduces a novel extension for the fuzzy integral - a flexible and powerful aggregation operator. For the first time, the proposed extension enables the appropriate handling of fuzzy set valued integrands, i.e. integrands that are distributions, which are not necessarily normal or convex. As real world data and data models are frequently not convex or normal, the proposed extension is of substantial relevance. The applicability of the method is shown using real-world data in the context of fusing multiple estimates of age-at-death in forensic anthropology.
