- This book (120,000 words, 336pp) charts the history of the most vitriolic and successful antisemitic polemic to have been printed in the early modern Hispanic world. The first part contains the first detailed biography of Francisco de Torrejoncillo and analysis of the history of the book itself from its publication in 1674, its reception, and influence on later antisemitic literature. The second half offers the first critical edition and translation of the text into English, uncovering the complex (and often unattributed) sources that Torrejoncillo used. It is the fruit of a 3-year research project funded by the Australian Research Council.
