- This article proved the feasibility of a background-free search for neutrinoless double-beta decay with Ge-76. At the time of this work, Matteo Agostini was a fellow at the laboratory hosting the experiment. He led the commissioning of the apparatus as well as the physics data taking. He also coordinated the analysis, which was based on the software and procedures that he developed during his PhD. The collaboration fully acknowledged his fundamental contribution and entrusted him with the announcement of their achievements at the most important conference in the field (Neutrino 2016).
